Brakes - Holding brakes from Mönninghoff: The right brake for every application

A holding brake has to hold loads safely at standstill - in elevators, wind turbines, machine tools, robots and many other applications. Many challenging industries rely on components with increasing power density and additional safety functions. Discuss your application with our experts - together we will develop an individual special solution that is tailored to your personal requirements.

Powerful, space-saving and reliable: Mönninghoff develops customer specific brakes and the appropriate system solution for every application.

Holding brake from Mönninghoff: Safety for toughest requirements

The great advantage of all Mönninghoff safety brakes is that they offer high torques even in the smallest installation space. Our compact designs are particularly suitable for applications with high performance requirements in tight installation situations - for example robotics applications. The tooth holding brakes are equipped with a face gear, which can be realized by means of the most modern manufacturing processes. This allows the holding brakes to be positioned and fixed in extremely fine steps.

Variants of holding brakes at a glance:

Tooth holding brake: Our tooth holding brakes usually allow torques between 10 and 2200 Nm. A variety of tooth geometries can be adapted to every application. This type of holding brake can be easily controlled by direct current and thus allows very fast switching times. Alternatively, a pneumatically released version is also possible, in which the compressed air supply is realized via a switching ring and thus no additional energy supply is required.

Electromagnetic multi-disk brake: Applications that have to engage with differential speed should be equipped with an electromagnetic multi-disk brake. Torques between 25 and 3000 Nm are possible - but above all, these brakes can withstand harsh environmental conditions very well. A special lining on the plates ensures low wear while reduced switching times can be achieved by an adapted control.
